The Hyatt Regency Sacramento has something new to tout besides well-appointed guest rooms – its downtown electric vehicle charging hub.

On Wednesday, the hotel at 1209 L St., hosted festivities to formally open 26 Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations, most of them on the fifth floor of its parking garage.

The site is part of a Hyatt partnership with Palo Alto-based electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors Inc., which is working to expand electric vehicle charging stations throughout California.

“We see California, and Sacramento in particular, as the epicenter of electric vehicle adoption, and we want Hyatt to be a familiar name in the EV community,” said hotel general manager Scott VandenBerg.
